Any good layer systems start with a quality, high performance base layer. For me, nothing is better than merino wool. It's hard to find high quality hunting gear on a budget, but I may be on the right track. In this video, I get my first look at the Skre Kaibab Merino Bottom and Skre Kaibab Merino Top. To say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement.

Designed as a mid-weight base layer using 17.5 micron superfine merino wool, the Skre Kaibab bottom and top are a soft, supple next to skin layer that provides excellent moisture management. Whether you are grinding out a steep arduous accent, or glassing from a windy ridge top, the Skre Kaibab top and bottom will provide you the warmth, comfort, and breathability you have come to expect from a stellar base layer.

What are your go-to base layers? Let me know in the comments!
